  1. Thanks, that sounds great and a massive time saver! Are you using mifare 1k cards? Is there a specific version of Card Exchange needed to give the syncing capabilities?
  2. Hi all, We are sixth form college of about 2000 students and 200 staff. We are in the process of tendering for new MFDs and installing new turnstile gates. I have been reading up on Papercut and Net2 and how the mifare cards work. Has anybody found a way not to have to manually enter card numbers into each system or scanning the card twice, directly into each system? Is there some software that could sync from a single data source and translate the number into the correct format needed for each system? Thanks Jimmy
  3. I've stumbled across the fact that it may be our Smoothwall filter causing the incorrect message. With the filter off, these devices happily show 'Connected', turn it back on and we're back at 'Connected No Internet' but being able to browse the web. Raised a ticket with Smoothwall so awaiting a response there.
  4. I have seen two members of staff with the issue now. Both are Android users but that may be coincidence. Checked the IPs, DNS settings etc of the network that was showing as Connected but no internet and all was fine. I put their phone into airplane mode with just the WiFi left on and I could browse to websites such as BBC without a problem. Then had the user open a shopping app and the app complained their was 'No Internet Connection' with a banner at the top but the app was usable and she browse through the store.
  5. We've had some reports from staff this week of their BYODs losing connection in some places around the College. We use Aruba Virtual Controller and access points. One of the users having issues, told me that in the staff room his WiFi was showing Connected No Internet but as he moved around the College, it would become Connected again before in another place it dropped out. With it being intermittent and not everybody affected, for example I have full connection in the same rooms he does not, I am struggling to pinpoint what it may be. Has anybody seen anything like this?
  6. Very true. We've only had ours in use since September and didn't have any issues until this week. It just feels odd that 5 have gone in a single week, in the same room, whilst two other rooms of 25 seem unaffected currently. Feel like I must be missing something! I've reached out to Xtreme support so hopefully they'll respond.
  7. In the summer we upgraded our iMacs to new fancy 2023 Macs with wired USB-C Xtreme Mac keyboard and mice. They are currently running Sonoma and one or two are now on Sequoia as we test. This week we've had 5 keyboards in one room (25 iMacs) have to be replaced as they were typing incorrect characters or multiple characters with a single button. I checked the keyboard settings on the Macs and they look ok plus if I plug a different keyboard into them then it works. I am wondering if anybody has seen this before with this brand or has any idea to fix? It seems strange for so many to go in the space of a week but having checked the OS of the machines that are working compared to those which aren't, they are the same. I am waiting on a response from our supplier but I am concerned the issue is going to continue to spread in the meantime!
  8. We're about to begin a large refresh of about 600 Dell Desktops across the College due to them not being Win 11 supported. The problem I have is that a large chunk of these are in shared areas and I don't believe they are getting used enough to warrant replacing like for like. Does anybody know of any software I can install on our desktops to help tell me the usage of them? How often is somebody actually logged in to them and not just sat powered on? Any help appreciated!
