Afternoon all,

We are moving over to Intune from Mosyle for iOS and my senior tech has done a stellar job setting it all up but we are having problems getting Lightspeed to work or more to the point, getting it to register the current user. He has pushed the certificate out as well as the settings, mirrored from our current Mosyle system (which works) however its not working correctly so we are missing something I guess.

I wondered if anyone could be kind enough to share a screenshot of their Intune Lightspeed configuration (with personal bits blanked out of course) so we can see what we are missing. Lightspeed don't seem to have a guide for Intune on iOS for some reason and their support has been slow coming back to us on the subject.

This is our current web filter config (cert pushed out on a different policy).

Filter Browsers - True

User Defined Name - Lightspeed filter

User Name - {{mail}}

Filter Sockets - True

Plugin Bundle ID - com.lightspeedsystems.iosrelayfilter

Organization - our org name is in here

Filter Type - Plug-in

The app is there but it just won't register the user, even though its set in Intune and shows it elsewhere (we have the username appear on the passcode screen for example).

Any thoughts Edugeek?

Thank you

Not that I use lightspeed, but the variables return based on the MDM so it depends if that mail one is the same that InTune recognises compared to Mosyle etc

In terms of the supported list, might be worth trying the following few to see if they make any difference:

{{AADDeviceId}}: Microsoft Entra device ID
{{AccountId}}: Intune tenant ID or account ID
{{AccountName}}: Intune tenant name or account name
{{AppleId}}: Apple ID of the user
{{Department}}: Department assigned during Setup Assistant
{{DeviceId}}: Intune device ID
{{DeviceName}}: Intune device name
{{domain}}: Domain name
{{EASID}}: Exchange Active Sync ID
{{EDUUserType}}: Type of user
{{IMEI}}: IMEI of the device
{{mail}}: Email address of the user
{{ManagedAppleId}}: Managed Apple ID of the user
{{MEID}}: MEID of the device
{{partialUPN}}: UPN prefix before the @ symbol
{{SearchableDeviceKey}}: NGC Key ID
{{SerialNumber}}: Device serial number
{{SerialNumberLast4Digits}}: Last 4 digits of the device serial number
{{SIGNEDDEVICEID}}: Device ID blob assigned to client during Company Portal enrollment
{{SignedDeviceIdWithUserId}}: Device ID blob assigned to client with user-affinity during Apple Setup Assistant
{{UDID}}: Device UDID
{{UDIDLast4Digits}}: Last 4 digits of the device UDID
{{UserId}}: Intune user ID
{{UserName}}: User name
{{userPrincipalName}}: UPN of the user

Also, did you deploy the app to device or user? As I'm guessing that might affect whether it picks up the "user" variables etc

A very good point. Thank you.

Hello,

I was just wondering if you had gotten anywhere with this? I'm currently setting up lightspeed filtering on some iPads (this is the first time we have had to try and set this up since moving over the lightspeed). Their documentation has not been very helpful in terms of deploying through Intune and their support have not been very helpful on this subject (usually very good).

I have managed to deploy the payload to the iPads and the filter is technically working but it wont pick up the assigned user and its got no way to find the rules of that user because its not picking up the user from the variable. Lightspeed say to use {{mail}} as a variable which I have but I have nowhere to put the UDID or customer number thing and I assume it needs that to find our rules?

Thanks

Dom

I don't think we got it working in the end and as we were pushed for time, we abandoned the migration to Intune for the moment.

Sorry.

Came across this in trying to find a solution but seems I am in the same boat as you guys.  Tried different attributes.  Tried with and without the optional cloud proxy settings from Lightspeed.   Tried changing my enrollment profile to use modern authentication.   Nothing seems to work.  So far Lightspeed support keeps sending me back to their support articles which are not helping as I do not think I have anything set incorrectly.
