Having used Netsupport DNA for years I'm quite familiar with it but having recently moved to a new school and finding nothing in place in regards to monitoring I was thinking of deploying DNA here but understand there is a cloud version called Classroom.Cloud which I've never seen let alone used. Has anyone here used Classroom.Cloud? The school is Windows and Chromebooks.

Thanks.

Hi there, I have been using Classroom.Cloud for some time, having previously been a DNA user. DNA is better currently for inventry and remote control for windows devices but Classroom.Cloud works well on Chromebooks and windows devices and they are slowly trying to add feature parity to it. The monitoring is quite configurable but isnt AI based so you will get lots of false alarms but you can now delete anything that doesnt need to be kept. I have found it useful for the chromebooks for keyword monitoring and it has a CPOMs integration if you use that service. It's definitely worth pursuing as if you have chromebooks it is a good option.

That's great info, thanks.

Anybody using Classroom.cloud - How do you find sharing screens/tabs?

Works well enough.

Had to do some config on the firewall to allow CCs media server through, but apart from that it just works.

It uses the browsers built-in screen sharing UI so its fairly straightforward. Load up a class and hit screen share - select a tab, window or whole screen and share away! Is fairly responsive - there is a delay, but its nothing extreme. Our Teachers are happy with it.

We seem to get a lot of Black Screens. Which when you end the screen share, keeps the black screen there until a student presses F11. Teachers find it a pain.

Just wanted to see if others have the same.

Support working with us, but don't seem to know what the issues is

Can't say we've experienced that here. Sounds like its getting stuck in full screen mode.

@Jobos The safeguarding functionality in classroom.cloud is very similar to DNA for Windows devices. For Chromebooks it much better as it has additional functionality such as being able to record video of phrase matches (DNA can only do this for Windows). The biggest advantage for both platforms is that it's really simple to monitor student devices when they leave your site (this can be turned off if you don't want to), and your safeguarding team can access data remotely. We'll be down at BETT next week if you are attending, or if you want a chat/demo then get in-touch and we can get something arranged.

@whartomt01 if you want to DM me your details I can have a chat with our support team and see what's going on with your screenshare issue.

No don't worry, the support team are on it. Usually waiting for me to gather info to send them. Intermittent problems aren't the easiest to resolve.

Just trying to find out if this is just an issue for us or if other schools see the same problem. But like I say, I have only 1 staff member in school that uses the 'Present' feature so I'm sure other schools are the same in that it's not utilized fully.

Just my opinion here, having used DNA for about 7 years and classroom.cloud for 2.

As others have said, classroom.cloud has you covered for classroom management, screen capture and the ability to manage multiple sites. However, it is severely lacking in technician features, you basically have the ability to provide remote support, I have found even this to not be completely reliable and if you are juggling the session with other windows, it frequently glitches with keyboard inputs. Device reporting is virtually non existent, creating things like dynamic lists for software / OS builds, nothing that I became used to quickly auditing / fact finding is currently present. I may just have missed it, but you can't schedule things like shutdowns. When I initially purchasing classroom.cloud I was told that the technical side of things was in active development, but I have seen very little in the way of progress in the last 2 years.
