Aruba AP315 Wireless Bridge

Hi all,

 

Hope you are well.

 

I need to get networking from a school building into an office building that's around 15 meters away. For now underground cabling is not going to happen, I was thinking of running fibre over a catenary wire, but again may take some time to do that. I was hoping a quick solution could be a wireless bridge.

 

We have Aruba 315 wireless access points with a controller. Is it possible to set a couple up in bridge mode to get the wifi over there?

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Fibre via catenary wire is the way forward in the long term.

 

Not sure about the bridge mode burt they do do some kind of "mesh mode" where the wifi points can mesh/daisy chain off eachother so that may work for you. Wouldnt be expecting the signal between 15 metres and 2 outside walls to be amazing though.

If its an IAP 315, it should mesh with its nearest neighbour automatically, and then you just need to configure EthO to bridge:

I've never tried it.

 

 

 

NOTE: if it is an AP 315 they are *only* controller based, and I have no experience of managing those bridged or not. (IAP 315's can be configured in Instant mode or Controller based)
