JATSO Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 One of our Smart Board MX065's seems to be stuck in an endless update process, even after they turned it off (which they shouldn't have done) it just loops back into the update cycle so they are unable to use the board. Is it just a case of waiting now? or does anyone know how to hard reset one of these? They have already tried the power off reboot trick.

I believe this is the same model that we have in one building and that there is a software update which corrupts the boot loader on the screens. SMART offered an RMA (4-6 week turn around) 🤦♂️ Or alternatively provided files and instructions to do the recovery yourself via serial interface using putty. I’m only on my mobile now but I’ll try to find the guide in the morning for you. eddyc

eddyc Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Apologies, @JATSO - I have just pulled out the SMART case in my emails and ours was the MX065-V1 and not the MX065-V2-C so I don't think our recovery instructions or firmware will help you, sorry. eddyc 1

They released an update that bricked the boards. You must have been unlucky enough for your board to pick it up. Disable auto updates on Smartboards as they can't be trusted to test updates properly.
