Carag is not a typical 13-year-old: he can shapeshift into a puma. He is a Woodwalker, and like all of his kind he must conceal his true nature. At a secret school for young shapeshifters, he is mentored by Andrew Milling, a millionaire benefactor who quickly sees Carag’s extraordinary potential. Alongside new friends Brandon (a shy bison-shifter) and Holly (a cheeky red squirrel-shifter), Carag starts to control his powers, and for the first time he feels a sense of belonging. But his new-found contentment is disrupted when a mining operation threatens to destroy the Woodwalkers’ environment and their community. This threat soon leads to mysterious attacks on humans. As the situation escalates, Carag and his friends must distinguish allies from enemies to save their unique Woodwalker world, and to protect innocent humans.
