johnsond Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Hello all A teacher has reported "innappropriate ads" being displayed on YouTube, on the recommended video sidebar (screenshot below). We have https decrypt & inspect enabled alongside the following content modificiations; YouTube Comment Removal, YouTube SafetyMode cookie, Youtube: Restricted Mode (Strict) via HTTP Header, Youtube: Remove Adverts. The ads are not always explicit however I would like to find out if it is possible to block them, or maybe remove the sidebar entirely. Any suggestions appreciated.
sigma Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I presume you already have googletagmanager.com blocked? What filter are you using?
cworcester Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 We had this, and the content modification we had to apply was YouTube: Disable AutoPlay - this removed the sidebar entirely 4
johnsond Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 Disable AutoPlay worked. Thanks a lot!
