Alternative to Remarkable

I've seen recently seen an uptake in remarkable pen to text devices and was looking at getting one for my wife to counteract the vast amounts of notepads around the house but i've seen the price and think it's a bit on the steep side. (Approx £600 for mk2)

 

So a couple of Questions

Can anyone recommend any similar devices?

 

Does the Remarkable MK2 do more than what i've seen it used for.

 

Any additional subscriptions i need to be aware of?

Just seen Amazon's one pop up on the homepage, looks like it's pretty much the same, but a fair bit cheeper.

 

I still think they're expensive for what they are.

I believe you have to pay for a subscription for the remarkable as it saves to the cloud, however I could be wrong.

 

Have you looked at the Supernote Nomad?
