RossCummingsOneIT Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Hi All, apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum I have a 7470 AIO that has a BIOS failure - recovery page appears with 3 options to recover, rollback or go to factory defaults but all fail. I need to create a bootable USB to reinstall the BIOS but the exe I get from Dell once extracted does not have a .hdr file to rename to a .rcv file My machine is out of warranty so Dell support aren't being helpful, but I can't find the .hdr file anywhere and presumably I cannot just put the .exe into a bootable USB as it needs the .rcv file I can't get into any sort of MDT/F12 prompt, no F8 for CMD, no recovery options etc so my only option is to boot from USB to re-install the BIOS Any help would be appreciated!
bald_pig Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 (edited) Looks like the rcv file is available to download from Dell support? https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=k34fw&oscode=wt64a&productcode=optiplex-7470-aio Edited October 15, 2024 by bald_pig newest bios 1
RossCummingsOneIT Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 Life saver! I was just on the main Dell Driver site and not the drilled down BIOS page - much appreciated
