[ms office - o365] Powerpoint's going blank

We are having an issue on our teacher laptops using the office 365 apps (enterprise version). Occasionally after switching windows the PowerPoints will go to a blank state where you can't see any of the text but also the menu and toolbars disappear. When you click on something that item returns but this is not really helpful when dealing with so many slides.

 

I have contacted Microsoft support but from previous experience this will be a long and painful one to troubleshoot, has anyone come across this issue before?
