Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone else is having a issue with the new feature in Google Classroom where parents/guardians can access the classroom classwork page to see the assignments their child has been assigned to?

We sent out the Google Guardian invites which parents/guardians accepted, they receive the weekly email summaries on a Friday afternoon with the URL links to the assignments that their child is assigned to but when they click on the assignment link(s) within the email it just takes them to the email frequency settings. Doesn't take them to the actual assignment or classroom classwork page.

If the parent accesses https://classroom.google.com/ according to the Google Documentation they should see the google classes their child has been assigned to based on the assignments set/available to complete but it seems none of our parents/guardians can see this either.

It turned on at domain level and all of our Google Classes have the "Guardian summaries and previews" setting turned on for each class by default.

It's been escalated to Google Support who are investigating, taken screenshots, browser logs and screen captures but I wondering if anyone else is experiencing the issue?

I'm assuming you have Plus licences?

I'm testing this at present and had to use the button the Classroom page to generate the link - then everything worked for my test parent account

The URLs are working here, but yes, you'll need the Plus licensing.

It's frustrating that Google haven't yet just included guardian views within the Google Classroom website and apps yet. Just let guardians sign into the app and see their childs classwork already! Whilst it's nice to have a live view of classwork at last (a guardian having a Friday snapshot in an email is not much use to them midweek) it's live views of each class, but only with URLs available if that calss was included in the last summary at all. No one view of everything, which amazes me somewhat.

Yes, we have Plus licensing.

Oh ok, that is really annoying that it isn't an automatic process. The language in the documentation on the Google Workspace Update blog and parent/guardian email summary it makes you assume it automatically works.

We have over 1000+ classes. Accessing each class and clicking on the button one by one is just not viable for us. Also sending parent/guardian's multiple emails will drive them crazy.

I've logged it as an idea on the Google Work Space Ideas portal so if anyone can vote for it, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to mention it to a Google Educational contact we have as well to see if we can push it further.
