Visualiser for Cookery / Food Class

Hi All,

We're having our Food & Nutrition classroom refurbished over the summer. The teacher will have a teacher demonstration station at the front of the class and I have suggested it might be a good idea to have a good quality visualiser / camera set up over her station linked to her 75" smartboard so that students can see what is going on without crowding round.

It's likely to be used to demonstrate food preparation/chopping and cooking on a hob.

I was just wondering if anyone had done similar and could recommend a particular camera or visualiser? It needs to be easy to manoeuvre into position to get the right angle, and as it will be used near a hob to show cooking in saucepans, we need to consider IP rating and perhaps anti-fog lenses etc.

We opted for a ceiling mounted CCTV camera with an HDMI output directly into the projector.

 

Covers the required area and Chef is very happy with it.

When our food rooms got refurbished, the builders used a mirror / polished stainless steel sheet hung from the ceiling at 45 degrees to give the students a 'view' of the preparation / cooking area...

We might be getting one of their desk-mounted cameras as a visuliser / scanner / conference camera. While looking up the website above, I came accross what seems to be their handy free-to-use web app:

If you want a top down view the Wolfvision Eye14 camera is great, we use them in our medical facilities as they have proper mounting options for ceiling tiles. They also have a cool laser dot to help with alignment that pulses out of sync with the camera frame rate so although you see the dot, the camera doesn't....
