Web access during photography exams

We are trying to find an alternative to photoshop for our photography students - just can't afford enough licences - and photopea looks plenty good enough BUT - needs the internet - so wondering whether anyone has experience of doing this?

 

we can probably restrict the internet so they can only access photopea during the exam - BUT - we can't stop them using the same account at home during the evening ?

 

Any ideas?

Photopea is decent but I wouldn't rely on it for exams. There have been some VERY questionable adverts run on it too.

Anything like GIMP a possibility?

Canva have acquired Affinity (ex Serif) - Canva Acquires Affinity

 

There is a suggestion that it may be free or heavily discounted for schools. I haven't looked into it fully myself but perhaps an options for an Adobe alternative?

Affinity Photo is a fantastic replacement for Photoshop. I've been using it for four years and would not go back to Photoshop and its subscription model.
