Bruce123 Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Does anyone know what ports the IDEX agent uses? Smoothwall docs say 2948, but we are also seeing 2949 in our internal firewall logs. Thanks, Bruce.
Joeloman Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Could it be that port 2949 was chosen as IDex Client Interfaces? Look at the setting under GUARDIAN/Client interfaces/IDex Client IDex Client will not be available in Maiden and later version. I recommend using Cloud Filter instead, however IDex Agent will remain.
BadgerPatrol Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 2949 is the secure/HTTPS version of IDex that was introduced in IDex v2; I believe it is only supported in Maiden. If you want to stop it, I think you should be able to disable it in the registry by setting HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IDexAgent\Parameters\HTTPSComms to 0.
Bruce123 Posted May 17, 2024 Author Posted May 17, 2024 Thanks that explains it, we are running the latest IDEX agent on our DCs but our appliances are on Leeds-72. Does that mean we should make the registry change for compatibility with our Smoothwalls?
