Slow and freezing VirtualBox - green turtle fix

We pushed out VirtualBox to a couple of classrooms to allow A-level computing to do some coding etc.

 

The staff and students have reported that the VM's can run slow and freeze quite frequently.

 

I've looked in to this and determined it's down to the green turtle!

It's not ideal that we're having to turn off so many security features to allow VirtualBox to run correctly :/

 

Memory Integrity: OFF

DeviceGuard: Disabled

Microsoft-Hyper-V: Disabled

 

Also needed to turn off Secure Boot :/

 

Thoughts?

You can only have one hypervisor.

 

DeviceGuard and Memory Integrity rely on HyperV

 

Not sure why secure boot should care though.

 

Windows does have a built in virtual machine, Windows Sandbox
