Max_Power Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Since around the 27th March we have seen an enormous increase in the number of Alerts being generated in particular alerts via the Office 365 integration which scans emails. 1141 alerts in 21 days now, and only 4 of those days were term time! It seems to be scanning historical items stored in Outlook, not just new items. Something which the system shouldn't do unless the item is changed. Usual call open with LightSpeed, but wondered if anyone else is seeing this issue? Thanks in advance.
2ilent8cho Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Yes, had an alert at 00:25 this morning for an email from June 2021.
Max_Power Posted April 18, 2024 Author Posted April 18, 2024 Good to know it's happening elsewhere as well, and hopefully they are looking to resolve ASAP. It is driving the DSL mental.
mcolbourn Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 We had the same issue just before Easter Alerts going to our DSL and a DDSL. I got the following response from support from this question "Thankyou for getting back to me in regards to "All mailboxes within the O365 tenancy will be scanned for content periodically," does this mean that we could get these same alerts appear in the future (in other words duplicated)?" "So yes as it does periodically do a full scan there is potential for this to be seen again, however as (support persons name) mentioned by checking the Close No Risk Alert option under Global Settings > Alert > Human Review will allow our AHR team to close out a lot of these for you. https://help.lightspeedsystems.com/s/article/Human-Review-for-Lightspeed-Alert-CSV-Import Also if these Alerts are coming from old accounts then you would need to look at getting these removed, as at this time our syncs are write only so do not remove accounts that may have been removed/Inactive in your SIS. This can be done manually using or in bulk, guides for both are below: https://help.lightspeedsystems.com/s/article/managing-groups-and-users https://help.lightspeedsystems.com/s/article/Bulk-Disable-Users" Hope this helps others
Max_Power Posted April 22, 2024 Author Posted April 22, 2024 Their response to you @mcolbourn is completely different to the response I have had, which indicates the scan only happens if there is a change to the email, or document or file. They have said in the helpdesk call that something had changed at the Microsoft end which is causing the issue. It would seem strange its happening for multiple schools and for them to claim its a periodic scan. They have advised us to turn on the human review as well for the time being.
