Link: Avonmouth Evri fire: Firefighters called to large Bristol blaze - BBC News

Firefighters have been called to a large blaze at an Evri warehouse.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) sent 16 appliances to the site in Boundary Road in Avonmouth, Bristol, after being called at 13:29 BST.

Footage showed flames at the warehouse and a large plume of dark smoke above the M5 motorway.

An Evri spokesperson said the fire had been put out by 16:00 and nobody was injured. An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause.

By 15:49, AFRS said eight fire appliances were at the scene and police were also in attendance to help with traffic management.

Evri said its "main priority was ensuring colleagues were safe".

"There were very few parcels at the site at the time with the vast majority of outbound deliveries having left the building.

"We have quickly made plans for alternative arrangements to minimise disruption to deliveries taking place over the next few days," the spokesperson added.

It's a day for large, destructive fires, it seems (Copenhagen's historic exchange) Hopefully, if you are waiting for an Evri delivery, your package is not one of the few left in the building.

Fixed that for them.

Wonder if it will be like the Quartermasters in Vietnam. When a helicopter was shot down quartermasters had to submit what equipment was on the flight to be written off. On a few occasions it was found the helicopter must have been the most powerful helicopter in the world due to the weight it was supposedly carrying.

This warehouse will now be shown to be Tardis like in its capacity, holding all lost packages for the last 3 months. It may even become even more Tardis like and be holding future parcels as well.
