tubs Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Hi I was wondering is anyone had heard anything about the SIMS Connect / TPM issue - we use Edulink that connects via the TPC ... "18/03/2024 16:05 - Work will continue with a high priority this afternoon and into this evening to resolve the issues with 3rd party applications syncing with SIMS. We are exploring some potential avenues of resolution and will update tomorrow morning as to any findings or results of these. Again, we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. " It didn't seem to be affecting us yesterday (or at least no reports) but has this morning ...
ThatBoringBloke Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Same here, fine yesterday, broke today. We have it loged with ESS. This was the latest update: 19/03/2024 09:45 - A potential fix was attempted last night to mitigate the issues being experienced, however monitoring is still showing synchronisation issues between SIMS and 3rd Party Software for Hosted SIMS/SIMS Connected Customers. We are continuing our investigations with the highest priority possible, and will provide a further update this afternoon. We again apologise for the inconvenience caused. Whatever they've applied to fix it has actually broken it for us.
jthompson Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 (edited) Same issue here since Saturday evening. I can't quite work out what the issue would be that makes it so hard to resolve. Perhaps the resolution involves disabling access to SIMS .net via SIMS Connected, which from a business perspective they are loathed to do. More palatable for ESS that third-party sync agents remain broken in order to keep SIMS Connected access online during school hours? Whatever was tried last night didn't work, and so we perhaps now have to wait until this evening before they will make another attempt. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't aware of the problems until customers told them about it during Monday, even though our connection died on Saturday. This all cuts to my greatest bugbear with SIMS Connected which is that the third-party integration is like a Heath Robinson drawing, only less amusing. Edited March 19, 2024 by jthompson
pooley Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Was prompted to change the sims password I use to authenticate between sims and edulink and its now back up and running this morning.
ThatBoringBloke Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Latest Update. Seems to now be working for us. 20/03/2024 09:40 - A fix for this issue was implemented last night. Overnight monitoring and some customer feedback has advised that this has restored the synchronisation for customers affected by this issue. Any customers still affected are advised to restart the OpenVPN service on their 3rd Party Connector. If the issue persists after this please contact your support provider for further assistance. We are now in a period of enhanced monitoring to ensure the stability of this service for our customers. We will provide a further update this afternoon. We thank you for your patience whilst this issue has been ongoing and we apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
