Kaliedos - Windows Integrated Authentication

We have looked at the new version of the externally hosted Kaleidos system and are very keen.

 

However, students and staff having two accounts and passwords is an absolute no-no.

 

I want our windows accounts to be used for any VLE system we choose.

 

Is there a way configuring windows integrated authentication with Kaleidos?

I admit this would be great to have but what about when they are logging on to Kaleidos from outside of school or even on a non windows machine?

Normally in this situation they would be prompted to enter a username and password, for which they would use their network one. In school the web page can 'detect' the username and domain of the logged on user and transparently validate them. I have no idea if the RM learning platform can do this however, but there are ones out there that can. It's one of my core requirements for a learning platform; we are currently going through the motions of choosing one ourselves.

Yes , as above.

 

Centralised accounts held in AD. You can authenticate to a Windows Domain on a MAC, and authenticating from outside of school to a windows domain is of course possible.

 

What i am wondering is whether i can use my Internal School windows domain to be the authenticating server for my externally hosted Kaleidos system.

 

Kaliedos is based on Sharepoint so the only technical issues are the external-internal authentication methods..no?
