sarahstacey Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 Hi, A couple of our Meraki access points have failed and are no longer under warranty. I've seen some unused MR42's on ebay. Is there any reason why we wouldn't be able to use them on our network? Licencing for example? Many thanks
DWilson1997 Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 We purchased some MR42's off eBay as we had long delivery times on our new AP's. You need to make sure they specifically say they are UNCLAIMED otherwise they will be tied to someone else's dashboard. MR licences are universal so can be assigned to any model. It worked well for us to bridge the gap. D 2
sarahstacey Posted March 5, 2024 Author Posted March 5, 2024 Thank you, that's really helpful to know.
snagrat Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 Are the failed ones MR42? The Meraki warranty on these is lifetime so should be valid up until EOS which is 2026 on this model
sarahstacey Posted March 5, 2024 Author Posted March 5, 2024 No they are MR26. I was going to replace with the MR42. As that is what we have received as replacements in the past. Thank you for checking that though!
