Mosyle MDM - app minimises on start

I have a number of iPads using Mosyle School Manager and it works quite well. However, there are a couple of iPads that if I launch the app it immediately minimises/closes.

I'm not sure if it is linked but these iPads also show as 'Unsupervised' and even if I run them thro' Configurator 2 they still remain unsupervised.

Anyone had similar issues?
