Oh frabulous day! One of my favorite books, Robert R McCammon's Swan Song is to be made into a TV series - https://m.imdb.com/news/ni64413172/?ref_=tt_nwr_1

I really hope this works out as the book is amazing (think The Stand but much, much better).

The book has been out of print for some time now and used copies of the original go for quite a bit. Hopefully they will do it justice

I read about this. Used to love RRMcC but kinda stopped reading his stuff, possibly because a check on Wiki suggests he didn't publish anything for a decade. Loved "Swan Song" and, yes it is better than "The Stand" but I thought they had an incorrect synopsis until I checked. I remembered "Job's Mask", but not the nuclear stuff! Wonder if I still have the book in the garage/storage?

His book Boys Life is possibly my favorite book of all time. I also enjoyed Stinger. Apparently he stopped because of a fall out with a new editor. I tried to read his book The Queen of Bedlam, but really couldn't get into it. Speaks The Nightbird is rather good though, but it does seem that he's better sticking with horror or slighty quirky books though.

I started with Baal and went up to Wolf's Hour. Not sure if I read Blue World and, though I think I bought Mine, Boy's Life and Gone South, I felt they sounded too much like Stephen King novels for my taste and never got around to them.

Boy's Life is highly recommended. It won tons of awards back in the day and not the kind of story you might think it is. Childhood (with all it's ups and downs) as it should have been.

Apart from the murder mystery!

Blue World was his collection of short stories. Pin is one story in there that has stuck in my mind. I won't describe it here!

That's the aspect that put me off. I didn't have an unhappy childhood but I never look back on it as a magical time either.

Looks like RRMcM will be topping up his pension with more royalty cheques as "Teacup", based (loosely?) on "Stinger", has started to announce casting and was due to start filming at the end of Feb: https://www.robertmccammon.com/category/stinger/

I really hope 'Teacup' is a codename for the project as Stinger is nothing as civilized!

No way, I just finished reading thus book yesterday. I've recently got into RMC books and love them, I've read Stinger, Wolf's Hour, Boy's Life, Mine, than SS and now I'm on Nightbird  SS was outstanding, its what I thought and wanted The Stand to be, not that i didnt love TS but I loved SS more. I like a thriller/horror writer who puts in alot of well written action scenes
