Another Headphone question

I need to order more headphones for the IT suite and I normally get the Crusader almost unbreakable headphones and while they say almost unbreakable we have managed to break a few hence the new order. On the whole they seem to work ok but we nearly always end up with messy cables strewn across the desk so I've found headphones with a coiled cable and I wondered if other schools have tried them?

We use the Crusader AV 'almost unbreakable' headphones and if your children are breaking those, I don't hold out much hope for anything less...

 

I cable tie one end of the cord to the computer base and as they are detachable the headphones are always put back in their storage container but I do know what you mean about the cables being left trailing all over the desk, maybe I should let them plug and unplug the cord so they can put that away too (oh my $deity no... what am I thinking?).

 

I like the coiled cable idea (not sure if the children would take it as a challenge to stretch them out as far as they can though) but then that just leaves the headphones needing somewhere to be put on the desk when they aren't being used (prone to being damaged by idle hands/ poorly supervised children)...

 

Maybe just change the cables to something like this (expensive example, but the first one I found - not an endorsement or advertisement):

We've had those and they have been OKish. The kids wreck the pads because they're quite tactile to squeeze and pull on.

After use we started to wrap the cables around the headphones but soon found that would cause the cable to twist and tangle the next time the headphone was used so we stopped that and now just push the cable behind the computer but there's 2m of it and many times I find the cables not pushed back enough or laying over the keyboard. It basically looks a complete mess.

 

I like the idea with the removeable coiled cable think that would work great.

I've been exploring the possibility of a separate coiled cable but each time I read the reviews I'm put off that some says the cables are too stiff to use and would pull out of the jack. I think this is probably because they are cheap cables so I need to spend more time searching.

They're all in one and really very sturdy. We've got about 120 of them and we've only had 1 failure in 2 years and that was someone shutting a cable in a very tight fitting door and snipping the cable.
