jblackburnHWGA Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 (edited) There used to be an option in the meeting options where you could enable or disable chat in a team meeting. It has disappeared from the options. Some of our students are taking advantage of this and just using it to chat during teams lessons. Does anyone know why it disappeared or how to get it back? mjhardisty Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 (edited) Admin > Teams > Messaging > Messaging Policies ? Unless in an actual Teams meeting/class - then it should be supervised chats? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/supervise-chats-edu Edited January 19, 2024 by mjhardisty
jblackburnHWGA Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 This is in a meeting not in teams in general. I've edited the title to clarify. Basically when you schedule a meeting then change the meeting settings you can no longer disable chat in the teams meeting.
mjhardisty Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 Still listed in the support doc: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/meeting-options-in-microsoft-teams-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e
jblackburnHWGA Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 (edited) Got it. If you go into a teams and schedule a meeting from the team it doesn't show as an option. If you go into calendar and schedule a meeting it does show. We'll just change our advise to teachers. Thanks Edited January 19, 2024 by jblackburnHWGA
