I have a school that has netsupport dna, school and notify and it running a bit dogged. Inherited from previous support. Please excuse me whilst technically competent I am only just picking up supporting netsupport. I think what is confusing me the most is it appears that each software mentioned above seem to have their own license service and therefore license on the server. And they are independently managed. Is this correct?

Looking for some advice and I’ll begin with my problem.

I recently rebuilt these devices thru config manager which installs the relevant software also. So netsupport tutor doesn’t show devices in a room specified by roomspec policy in group policy and the user has a registry key room added. Now they all look ok and confirms that it working for some computers but not others. A quick glance at their registry shows the group policy has applied to the relevant room, but this room doesn’t show any active devices in titor console.

Firstly is it necessary to have all three running. As they don’t seem to coexist thru one management console. Each have a server side configuration utility it seems.

What is the best practice to host them all on one server.

If it is necessary to have all three running on the same server is there a server requirement specification I can follow as it ain’t half slogging a server vm 4 cores and 16gb ram.

Any questions I will do my best to answer

Thanks

We run DNA and notify on the same server without any problems. Have you spoken to NetSupport about it? They've always been really helpful when I've needed them.

Hi @dapaulio

Each of the products you have mentioned can be run, and are managed independently.

The issue you are having with NetSupport School and devices not connecting to the Tutor Console is probably going to require a call with our Support Team so they can check over your configuration.

You don't need to have all three products running on the same server, you can split them over multiple servers if you wish. For a recommend server specification we would need to know a little bit more about your NetSupport DNA setup. How many devices do you have the DNA Agent installed on, and are you running DNA with a full copy of SQL Server or using SQL Express?

Our support contact details can be found here https://support.netsupportsoftware.com

Alternatively, if you PM me your details I can arrange for someone from our team to get in contact.
