IP allocation based on SSID - Unifi Controller/Access Points

Hey Wonder if anyone has any ideas about this

 

Small Primary School

 

They got 5 Access Points (Unifi) in total + Unifi Switch

 

running Server 2019 with DHCP Server, all devices at the moment getting IP via Windows Server DHCP

 

School wants the following SSID Setup

 

10.1.1.31-150 - Teacher SSID

10.1.1,151 -239 - Pupil SSID

They just have a single IP range at the moment 10.1.1.1-254 and have a single switch that connects to the main router and all the APs feed of this main unifi switch

 

This is because they want filtering on iPads at different levels, Schools Broadband is the ISP so will ask them if they can apply IP based Filtering depending on what IP they have assigned

So idea is that if a teacher connects to teachers SSID they will get the IP range between 10.1.1.31-150 and so forth, pupils will connect to pupils SSID etc.

 

 

We got access to Unifi Controller i suspect have to setup Vlans etc!

 

Anyone has similar setup to this or have a better way of doing it?

speak to schools broadband, they should be able to chuck a vlan on your actual router, set a dhcp helper to your main dc and let you just create a scope there to feed the vlan and make this not a crap show to deal with next year
