Following from my going to see the rather wonderful Tokyo Godfathers with my son last week (I thought it was going to be about the Yakuza!), it got me thinking that there must be a lot of films out there that we may not be aware of, or, whilst not set at Christmas, at least have a Christmassy feel about them that may have passed us by.

To kick us off then, I'll give us the aforementioned Tokyo Godfathers and my seasonal fave, Local Hero. It's not a Christmas film, but is pleasingly soul warming for the season

Virtually any "not Christmassy" takes on the season seem to end on a hopeful note: Bad Santa, Violent Night, Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale.
