IT Technician

Grade 6 £24,702 pa

Full Time (Part time or term time only working may be considered)

Required as soon as possible

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, and experienced Technician to join our central IT Team delivering services and support to all the schools within the MILL Academy.

 

As our IT Technician you will be responsible for:

· Maintaining the school’s computer equipment and ICT network

· Installing new and existing software across the network

· Providing technical support for all users, curriculum and administrative

· Resolving identified technical problems

· Promoting the use of ICT across the curriculum

 

The successful candidate for this role will have:

· Strong knowledge of ICT hardware and software and the integration of the two including tablets, iPads, laptops, desktops, printers, large format displays

· Working knowledge of common user applications

· Experience of using Microsoft products

· Good organisational skills, be accurate and methodical

· Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude

· Ability to organise and prioritise workload, ensuring deadlines are met

· Willingness to learn new skills and in tackling the variety of tasks arising in a school environment

· Ability to work effectively both in a team and also on own initiative

· Good communication skills with adults and children

· Committed to professional development and training

 

You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate well to people on all levels. This is a busy and demanding post and will require someone who is well organised, flexible and able to work under pressure and to deadlines. This is a full time, permanent contract, although part time or term time only working may be considered, with access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

 

The MILL Academy is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All successful candidates are required to have enhanced DBS clearance and will need to undertake the DBS check with our organisation. Other relevant pre-employment checks will also be carried our including references from present and previous employers, qualification validation and a confidential health check.
