Salto Server migrate to VM

Hi all,

 

Hope you are well.

 

At two of the schools I look after I need to move Salto door access system onto a new VM. One is on a standalone PC and the other is on a VM that is playing up and I can't do anything with.

 

Does anyone know if its just a case of making a backup of the Salto DB, installing Salto on the new VMs and importing the DB, then setting the same IP address on the new VMs as the old one?

I did this recently and it was more or less exactly as you say. Quite straightforward. We went to a newer version and had to run a tool that's included in program files to update our database, but if you keep the version the same on the new server (or update before you migrate) you shouldn't have any problems. You can create the backup you need on the webui too.
