I'm one of those philistines who very rarely reads non-fiction but for some reason read "Five Past Midnight in Bhopal" which covers the Bhopal disaster. IIRC, though money was paid out, Union Carbide and some of its top executives got off pretty lightly, as did some of the Indian bosses who were charged.
