Playing YouTube videos in Google search results

Hi all,

 

Hoping someone has a solution for this. Apologies also if this post appears twice, I thought I'd posted it already but lost it in the forums somewhere.

 

So if doing for anything in Google, video results that are on YouTube can be played by pressing the expand button on the thumbnail. Is there a way of turning this off without turning off video search results entirely? In an isolation room, YouTube is blocked but students have figured out this way round it as the URL for the video is a Google one rather than a YouTube one. I haven't found a GPO or setting that can disable this feature and I don't think blocking Google would go down very well. We use Impero here if anybody has a method of blocking using this.

Good evening! As suggested I would investigate URL rewriting to exclude YouTube and other videos from search results with the -site option.

 

Alternative is to force the users to access another search engine without video results.

I don't think Impero will see the web stream and you will need to use a filter.
