Permanently Deleted Msol User

Good afternoon,

 

I think I really messed up here, trying to migrate to 365 I had some issues with some accounts so I ran some commands that I found in another article which deleted the Msol user and then permanently deleted the Msol user but it turns out at least one of them had work in their OneDrive.

 

Is there anything I can do to get it back?

Not sure of a way to recover if its been removed from the recycle bin , any chance of getting it back from a computer they synced with OneDrive at some point

Do you run Veeam backing your network up, you can restore users from there as we often have engineers who accidentally delete user.

Oddly enough we moved to Veeam just last week but not for Office 365 backups and isn't that what I would need?

Is it an O365 user or local AD account? If its local AD you can restore objects to your AD depending how you have it setup.

If you have deleted using the Remove-MsolUser with the -RemoveFromRecycleBin switch then the account is gone and no way to recover.

 

Only option would be via backup or if the files existed somewhere else, like on a local PC via sync

@snagrat as I feared

@MatthewL it was an AD user who had both an on premise and cloud account and I just didn't think when deleting the cloud side because I was so focused on trying to resolve the issue with mailbox migration.
