I need 1000 Memory Sticks (512Mb) Help!

I am putting in USB controls over the summer which will restrict students from brininging files that I don't want them to this will also "lock" the USB device to the student so they cannot share them.

 

I have all the above ready to go but I also want to supply the students the USB sticks so we can provision them and we know they will work as there have been a high number of issues around cheap memory sticks not working or failing randomly.

 

So my question is does anyone know of a good supplier that can provide the above 1000 sticks at a decent price and I would like branding but this again depends on price.

 

I do plan to sell these to the students at no profit so the sticks will have to be competative so it remove the argument that they can get them cheaper from PC World (Blah!) or Currys (Blah! Blah!)

 

Any ideas anyone ???

We just bought some Kingston ones from our Misco Account Manager for £4.55 for 2GB and £6.?? for 4GB.

 

Had a quick look on Misco's site and they want more dough for 512Mb it makes no sense???

I think most places you will be better off getting 1GB ones we just bought kingston data travelers for about £4 from CP Ltd.

 

What software are you using to acheive this?

@Plexer: Using a bit of software called GateKeeper from Takeware pricey @ £3k but it does cover all types of mass stoarge devices including phones and mp3 players and such.

As long as you are going with a high quality supplier, you should be able to get branded ones at a fairly similar price to the "big brand name" ones.

 

And we've actually done some in house speed tests with some of these big brand sticks. They perform okay, but by no means spectacularly. Closer to the low end of "good" really.

 

 

And of course, don't buy them off of Ebay, unless you fancy a 32MB usb 1 stick tricked into thinking it's a Playstation 3.

I should add that I also had quotes from USB Company who were very professional but slightly undercut.
