Google Workspace - How do i Block emails without a subject?

Hi all,

after some advice from those who are using Google and able to do this.

Basically we're getting some spam emails that don't have an email subject. Gmail displays this as "(NO SUBJECT)" in the users inbox.

We also have a number of staff members that can't be bothered to use the subject field.

The staff here have recently had cyber security training and one of the "things to look for" was the lack of an email subject.......... So i've been asked by the power that be to just block/reject emails without a subject. I thought this would be simple.

In the Google admin panel --- apps --- Google Workspace --- Settings for Gmail --- Compliance --- Content compliance

I can attempt to create an "advanced content match" rule for "Location" -- "Subject".

However, if i leave the field blank, its says it can't be left empty..... if i add "(NO SUBJECT)" it will only block emails with the actual email subject of "(NO SUBJECT)" not those that are empty.

Anybody have some input on how to do this?

I have raised a support request with Google...... i'm on day 4, and at the moment they just said i need to create a rule in the above location......... well yeah....... so i'm getting nowhere at the moment with them.

Thanks in advance.
