How to shrink this file to under 4GB to fit on a USB with FAT32

Does anyone know how i can get this file broken down so i can get it on a USB with FAT32? The largest file size you are allowed is 4GB

Can't you use exFAT? It's been around for about 15yrs

If exFAT isn't a option for some weird reason - you could DISM it down in an administrative command prompt for the .wim using:

 

Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile: /SWMFile: /FileSize:3800

You can't otherwise they would be too big again??

 

More importantly why? - there is no need:

 

"If you're installing from Windows Setup, copy the set of .swm files into the Sources folder on the installation media and then run Windows Setup."

I though unless you put them back together again they would not work. Am i right in thinking if i copy both SWM files to the 'sources' folder it will just work

 

Its because we have macs running windows only, so NTFS wont work. The old bootable W10 we have has V1802 and for some reason wont upgrade to the H22. So im trying to created a new bootable usb with the H22 version of windows on if that make's sense?

The mac should read FAT32 and exFAT from a USB stick without any issue IIRC.

You can usb boot exFAT.

It's been supported on macs since snow leopard.
