Dare we assume you mean CSV to CTF v23 specification? (Seeing as CDF3 appears to be an XML structure specific to Mastercard for their CreditCard statements)

Doable in Excel via VBA. See https://github.com/PatchworkBoy/Bromcom_PowerBI_Bits/blob/main/XLS%20Table%20to%20CTF/ctf%20build.xlsm

You want to get all your data sorted / formatted so that you can copy and paste it straight into the SourceData table found on the Data tab.

Then populate the orange backgrounded data entry cells on the Setup tab, click CREATE (makes an empty file to then inject the data into), click POPULATE (injects the data).

Voila. One CTF appears at the Output Folder location covering Pupil and Contact Basic details for everyone on the Data tab (names, addresses, phones, emails).

This version handles 3 contacts max. Nothing stopping it from handling more… adding more data coverage is fairly straightforward - have a look at Developer > Visual Basic > Modules > Module 1 > data_to_text_file() subroutine. All should become relatively self explanatory.

For C1 / C2 / C3 Relationship, you should be entering the codes found in the Main Gov CDBS, CodeSets tab rows 1232 to 1247.

Same applies for Language and Ethnicity codes. these should all be the coding shown in relevant section of CDBS CodeSets tab.

See: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/common-basic-data-set-cbds-database

Whatever you do, if you make changes to VBA etc to produce more "complete" CTFs, your output MUST fall in-line with the CTF Specification section 3. As these files will be going nowhere near S2S, the naming structure of the CTF file is entirely irrelevant. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/common-transfer-file-23-specification
