Sharing Teams Assignments with parents

Hi, at my school we use Teams for homework assignments and we're really happy with it. It works really well for teachers and students. The only problem is parents, as there doesn't seem to be a good app which allows homework assignments to be visible to them and updated accurately. We've been using Firefly's ParentPortal, but the syncing is terrible! SatchelOne's syncing is better, but still not perfect. We've looked at using My School Portal- is that any better?

There is a Parent/guardian digest that can be sent out from Teams. I've not used it yet but we are thinking about setting it up to give parents an overview of what their children are up to. THere was something new coming as well but I can't remember the name of it now, that would allow parents to see homework sent. I'll see if I can dig it up.

 

In regards to My School Portal, I have only ever heard good things about.

I've looked at the weekly digest before and it might be worth a shot, but would like to get something which synced straight away if possible.

Do let me know if you remember the name of the alternative product - would be v. interested to hear about that!

Good to know that My School Portal seems to be good- will set up a trial with them.

I would say that My School Portal is alright for certain things but has it's limitations. I also think it depends on what MIS it is syncing with though.

 

I would have to say if you do go down that route with them, pay extra for the support plans, their basic online only support is terrible and you don't have a phone number to call anyone for support.
