Hi,

We are migrating from PrimarySite to Greenhouse for schools. Has anyone migrated away from PS before and know how they handle allowing access to the old website once the DNS migration has occurred. Do they have a temporary URL where we can still access the old content?

Can I ask why you are leaving PrimarySite?

We are looking at them, and although they are not our preferred supplier, they are the best priced.

We left PrimarySite a few years back. They're designs are a little dated now and focussed on children when 90% of our traffic to our sites are parents.

PrimarySite under Juniper have fixed many of the issues with the old CMS and the designs are as good as anywhere else really . I was over-ruled on the choice as SLT wanted the Ofsted Detector function. Greenhouse are still very good for design and CMS is good.

If anyone know if I will still be able to access my old site for a while after DNS migration that would be great!!

Not a past user but it normally depends on when you stop paying. If you redirect the Domain name to your new host, the PrimarySite web pages will still be there, and it would be churlish for them to refuse to supply a direct URL. But if your contract is over and you have stopped paying it will very much depend on the company and how much grace they give.

How exactly does the Ofsted detector work as these days there are thousands of bots that will be crawling over websites. Edited by Sonic007
