donkeymusic Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Good Morning, Hope you all had a good weekend. Im just looking for some guidance on our inherited RM network. Brief overview, we had a support contract with RM but now only have it for Unify as we have become part of a trust. so RM wont assist any queries relating to Unify and Management Console. Quick question, I am attempting to disable the internet for a user from the console. but i get a permission error that i dont have permissoin to edit a user details. I am using both my admin account and the system admin and both get the same error. Just wondering if anyone can offer any assistance of advice? Thank you
networkmangler Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Are you trying to do this in the RMMC? If you are all this really does is add the account to a Group ie "SCH Internet Disabled" (The first 3 letters of the group will probably be different for yours) As a work around you could just add the user to that group to remove their internet and then remove the group when you need to give their access back
donkeymusic Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Thanks, thats good to know. The main issue is why would i be getting the permission error as an admin? Thanks
networkmangler Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 I'm not sure why you are getting the error One thing to have a look at is the groups your account is a member of, is your account a member of the "Domain Admins" group? I think if you have the "Domain Admins" and "Policy Managers" groups you should have access to everything 1
