itgeek Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Hi, So I have been planning on using local profiles. I have been testing this and it seems to work ok however I have not setup/configured any default user profiles on the machines etc. it has started to come up with an error, blue box saying we can’t sign in to your account it has two options sign out or close. If they select close it continues into windows and everything seems to work ok. Has anyone had this issue? Also we have had a few issues with programs loading etc. Do I need to configure anything for the students local profiles or create a default profile? If anyone has a guide/links that would be helpful. Thanks
Techie-v2 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 We sometimes get that same message come up. It's something to do with either office or auto signing in to the onedrive app but haven't got to the bottom of it yet
mjhardisty Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I've experienced user sign-in errors with local profiles primarily when the machine has run out of disk space. Obviously the size of local profiles varies depending on what you enable. Big killers of space I've noticed are OneDrive caching and Adobe CC too. Machines with 128GB will fill up quickly. Nothing needs to be done to be configured, just leave profile path blank in AD and the machine should use local %appdata% usually in c:\users.
