Printer IP address

Hi all

 

Have weird issue. We have printer where we have reserver ip address x.x.1.34 on DHCP with mac address etc

 

After soemtime the ip add is reverting to .36. I checked in DHCP and no mention of .36 under lease or anywhere.

 

when i restart the printer it picks up .34 again works and again after while reverts back to 36

 

I have no idea where its picking up 36 from

 

Can i just change ip address to printer to .36 and will papercut auto config it self or do we need to remove printer from papercut and add back in with new ip address?

Rogue DHCP server somewhere on your network? Admittedly only configured enough to set this one IP address.

 

When it loses .34 and gets .36 does .34 ping or otherwise show signs of life?

Have you checked there isn't a second reservation or on the machine an IP is set?

I'd try and mirror the switch port the printer is connected to and get Wireshark out.
