Free Chromebook Video Editing

A long time now post!

 

We have recently moved from iPads to Chromebooks and Chrome tablets as an organisation. A lot of our schools used iMovie on iPads to create videos. I am looking for something we could install on Chrome devices, either web-based or Android apps.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? Like all schools, it would be nice if it was as free as possible.

WeVideo - web based, not free (although there's a free trial period to try out), starts at around $10(US) per user per year for 30 users, prices per-user probably drop for larger groups. I used it myself recently for some video editing work - it works well, it's pretty full-featured, and suites the kind of thing a class of students is going to be doing.

We use this in one of our secondary schools. It is really good, but it is the cost that is prohibitive. We want to use it in primary schools for one small project that only lasts for a few weeks.

Canva is free to Edu and gives you pretty powerful video editing on any platform. Works really well.

 

The Photos app now supports video editing - so basic editing is built in now.
