Project idea: Printing Lunch pass for student

Hi Guys..

 

Hope you all well and in good health too.

 

Just need help or ideas ..

 

Well we have Dymo Writeable 450 machine and we want to print students lunch pass with their names and barcodes. My idea is to create in Excels or Access and print labels so can student can go to canteen and purchase food and then canteen scans the barcode on labels.

 

Has anyone done this project?

Not sure how to generate barcodes in Excel, but Google Sheets has barcode fonts that make it easy to format cell data as a barcode: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/177638-one-line-very-brief-helpers-13.html#post1969613

havent used Dynamo machines but our brother label printer came with some software called P-Touch which allows you to design labels inc barcode options and then merge from an excel list out to the printer, I assume dynamo have similar for theirs
