Given that the Wii U sold in very low numbers it would be worth your while ensuring yours starts ok as I think the Wii U is going to be very collectable in the future. I still play mine regularly, although Mario Kart and Splatoon are now no longer availble to play online due to a security issues.

I can't really see them sorting this out considering that the Wii U store is now closed and Nintendo's legendary reputation for killing off old console support.
