alan-d Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Had a demo of the Smartboard Airliner slate and some teachers here are interested in buying some. Anyone using them? If so how reliable are they etc Airliner link
Norphy Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 We have one here, its quite nice. Certainly a good alternative to a smartboard if you don't have the money for one especially considering it works with the standard smart software and the range on the thing is good. However I think it is an incredibly cynical product. It is nothing but a Wacom Graphire Bluetooth with a smart badge on it, a paper insert with pictures of pens and (possibly) a custom firmware. However for the "honour" of the smart badge you pay an extra £100. I don't know if the Wacom badged product will work with the smart software (probably not) but considering the price difference I think its a con.
alan-d Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 They were my thoughts exactly - an expensive wireless graphics tablet. The staff in question want to use them in addition to the Smartboards they have. I can see a use for them - especially the vertically challenged users but I'm wondering whether they are any more use that a graphics tablet.
