Apple School Manager - how to re-arrange the apps on iPad?

Hello,

 

I have been looking into Apple School Manager for some time now, as at present all of our iPads are under a 'Personal' Apple Account, that was set up by my predecessor.

 

I have set up a free Mosyle account and think I have everything sorted, but my only problem at the moment is that I'm unable to re-arrange the apps on the iPad under the Pupil and Staff account setup on the iPad.

 

Does anyone know if it's possible? For example, I want to add our Children's Hub (website) as a Shortcut and hide Safari.

Yes, it's possible.

 

It's all in the Home layout tab, you can then add folders / drag apps around the home screen and add web links.

I have set them up as a Shared ipad, and when I click on the Mosyle Manager app I have to download the profile, but I keep getting Profile Error - This profile cannot be installed. This is being logged in as the Administaror on the ipad.

 

I would contact Mosyle directly, but we have to pay.

Do you have any restrictions setup on the device? Might be wrong about this but there is a restriction that stops you adding and removing profiles.

 

Might be worth turning if off and trying to add the profile again if it is on.

I have taken a look and there are no restrictions in place.

 

As I'm currently unable to see the location of the iPads. As they disable the Finy my iPhone/iPad on ASM.

Are the devices supervised? I know certain profiles can be installed on an unsupervised device but homescreen is one that requires it.

 

I don't think you should need to use the app to install the profile, it should push down automatically if configured right.

The iPads seems to be working now. I can see them on the Mosyle Manager.

 

Is it possible to change the default of the Camera? I want them to have access but I want the photos as jpg not HEIC but it's now showing up on the Settings

It is not possible to set a default camera photo format with the MDM...
