mahmad Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Hi, All users under the same network are not able to sign on. Error message when trying to sign in 'User Profile Sign on Service failed the sign in'. I have tried to restart the Sign-on Service on the DC and I also have restarted the DC. This has still not resolved the issue. This issue can be temporary resolved on an individual basis by removing profile from the local machine but this is not a effective resolution. Any help would be appreciated.
3s-gtech Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 What type of profiles? This tends to happen if the user profile can't be accessed - e.g. a roaming profile share is offline or a mandatory profile has the wrong permissions. 1
mahmad Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 The profiles are roaming, how do I check if the share is offline? Apologies im fairly new to the tech field.
3s-gtech Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Can you access the share where the profiles are stored from a client PC? Roaming profiles are one of the more complex fields for this - but unlike a single mandatory profile, you can at least be fairly sure that you have a single point of failure here - the network location is offline, or the share permissions have been changed etc. Unlikely that every user's profile itself has been damaged.
mahmad Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 Yes I am able to access the share where the profiles are stored. That would be the most relevant cause to the issue in this case so im not sure
