Hi Everyone,

3 years ago we decided on the advice of our suppliers to move from a standard VMWare system with 3 hosts to a Nutanix solution with 3 nodes. We didn't use any of Nutanix' hypervisors however and as such it just runs our VMWare infrastructure on top of it which we still buy a license for. The storage element is hyperconverged and controlled by Nutanix.

What we were not told is that the Nutanix license renewal price after 3 years is huge, I'm talking almost as much as we paid for the entire solution which included new hardware and other support.

On this basis I want to revert to just using VMWare on the hardware we bought and removing ourselves from the shackles of Nutanix.

Has anybody had Nutanix and gone back to VMware under similar circumstances? if so was it fairly straight forward to do?
