sketchup marketplace app install

Hi,

 

we've used sketchup before on chromebooks but it has stopped working

Looks like it wants more permissions granted.

 

Also noticed it wants "See, edit, create, and delete all of your Google Drive files"

 

is it "normal" for apps to want all these permissions, esp. delete !?

 

I removed sketchup and installed again for the domain (Admin Install)

Still not working, bit of googling later: allowed popups and cookies for edu.sketchup.com

Still not working. Noticed we had "Don’t allow users to install and run apps from the Marketplace"

Changed it to "Allow users to install and run only selected apps from the Marketplace" and added

sketchup to allow list. Finally working!

 

Is this how to do it now, e.g. you need to install for the domain and add to the allow list ?

I changed the GPO to allow popups on their site and it started working again. When I tried logging in originally, it directed me to the posts below.

yeah that last link is about allowing popups. Sounds like you are on windows

 

on chromebooks just seems weird you have to install the app for the domain then also add it to an allowlist

 

also the permissions for sketchup seem quite extensive, is this similar with other apps ?

Our PC issues are solved by enabling pop-ups.

 

I still have issues on Chromebooks where it sits on the loading splash screen and does not pop up any login windows (despite pop-ups being allowed).

This happens on school and direct internet connections so I know it is now to do with our filters.

After some playing, it seems it is not working on older Chromebooks (OS v77) but it is on newer ones (OS v109).
