Within the local region, the School is extremely popular and consistently heavily oversubscribed. Examination results have been very strong at all levels and the school prides itself on providing students with a rich and well-rounded education. The Director of Digital Services will oversee and control the development and maintenance of the School’s information technology and digital systems. You will lead the transformation and continuous improvement of the teaching and learning environment through the enhancement of digital capabilities to meet the needs of our students and staff. You will also develop our cyber security position so that is highly secure but allows for innovation and creativity within learning. Key Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for the management and development of the network infra-structure, ensuring safe and reliable running of all IT systems and hardware To develop an ambitious School digital strategy ensuring the service meets the requirements of a school with an age range of junior department through to sixth form to deliver an outstanding user experience for all To line manage the work of two IT technicians; to provide professional development as appropriate; to ensure the team provides some media support including lighting, AV and sound for events; to develop the efficient use of our website and social media platforms To resolve incidents in a timely manner, assist with the resolution of major incidents and support the service in the instance of disaster recovery To ensure the school maintains information and systems securely and complies with the data protection legislation To ensure relevant data backup and retrieval systems are documented and tested in line with agreed procedures to underpin the connectivity requirements for on-site and remote working To maintain operational availability and promote effective and efficient use and productivity of the platforms or system infrastructure. To offer solutions that develop the overall efficiency of the organisation including the emerging use of Microsoft Automates and associated tools Installation support including on-call emergency support when required; required to work outside of stated hours when needed Support the implementation of projects, changes in software as required A letter of application and completed application, including two referees, should be sent to Mr John Harrison by midday on 17 March 2023.
